A Twist on a Spanish Classic

We girls at Bombón party like to mix things up and the perfect light breezy summer drink is a twist on classic Sangria, White Wine Sangria, using yummy peach and some citrus fruits (not to mention a touch of vodka). Donna and I think it makes a much better... and prettier (of course)... summer cocktail. Why not try it out at your next BBQ - if you're dont have Casera (because you're not here in Spain) then soda water is the same.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup orange-flavored liqueur or orange juice
1 cup vodka or lemon-lime carbonated beverage
2 medium peaches or nectarines, thinly sliced, slices cut into half
1 medium orange, thinly sliced, cut in half if desired
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine, chilled (3 1/2 cups)
1 bottle (1 litre) casera, chilled (4 cups)

Directions:
In a great big jug (or use a big pan and then pour some into a pretty jug) stir sugar, orange liqueur (triple sec/cointreau) and vodka until sugar is dissolved.
Into another pan or jug, pour half of vodka mixture. Divide fruits and wine evenly between pitchers. Refrigerate until serving.
Just before serving, pour half of casera into each pitcher; stir gently to mix. Serve immediately. If desired, serve over ice.
Add more casera if you want a slightly less alcoholic mix and just wait for the compliments.
